Independence Grove
Located near River Glen and adjacent to Libertyville on Peterson Road (Route 137), Independence Grove offers an array of outdoor activities including fishing, boating, biking, hiking trails and a swimming beach.
The Des Plaines River Trail
The Des Plaines River Trail is a scenic 28 mile multi-use trail that meanders along the Des Plaines River. River Glen homeowners will enjoy quick access to more than four miles of the trail that runs between Routes 137 and 120.
Yacht Clubs
If you love being on the water you will be able to find two yacht clubs remotely located near the River Glen community. Waukegan Yacht Club and North Point Yacht Club provide community events and outdoor fun.
Genesee Theatre
Experience film and stage shows as they were in the 1920's with the historic Genesee Theatre. A short distance from River Glen, located at 203 N Genesee St., Waukegan, is the elegantly renovated architectural theater with the multi-use of cinema and concert hall.
Golf
River Glen is surrounded by quality award-winning golf courses that any golf lover would appreciate. Pine Meadow Golf Club, which was voted one of Golfweek's best courses to play in 2015, Conway Farms Golf Club, which hosted the 2015 BMW Championship, Thunderhawk Golf Club, and Merit Club.
